In a highly dysfunctional environment...and I didn't know it. (It is amazing how our bodies, and brains, adapt to our environments). I found myself experiencing many challenges in my young life from not being able to connect with my peers, to anxiety and body image issues. As an adult I continued to struggle with the above, and found it very challenging to have any agency or direction in my life.
I became a Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner in July 2011, through the Nutritional Therapy Association based in Olympia, Washington. Although I was just 22, I highly valued holistic nutrition and implemented my training into my personal life daily.
Now, at age 32, I have just completed a Bachelors of Science Degree in Human Development from UC Davis.
I am connecting my knowledge of human development and holistic nutrition in an overall approach to help people achieve good health. Toxic stress, at any point in the lifespan, can significantly affect the way an individual processes food, and the relationship he or she has with food. I want to help people who have also faced trauma, abuse, and maltreatment, to heal. To heal with nourishing foods.
